40th Anniversary Gala Highlights

The 2025 Pacific House 40th Anniversary Gala brought the community together for a night of celebration, mission, and impact. Inspired by The Wizard of Oz, the evening’s “Finding the Way Home” theme captured the goal to help neighbors build safety, stability, and belonging through housing first.

A record-breaking attendance of over 200 guests joined Pacific House for a festive evening full of hor d'oeuvres, dinner, and dessert, with live music and a DJ to close the night. One of the founders, Reverend Gary Brown, shared the early history of Pacific House, particularly highlighting how local churches and synagogues took collective action to meet a critical need for shelter. A special thank you to our supportive housing resident speaker whose story of perseverance and housing stability inspired everyone in the room.

Many additional client stories and perspectives from our CEO, Board Chairman, CEO of The Housing Collective, and the State of Connecticut Housing Commissioner were collated into the evening’s “Behind the Scenes” video, which can be viewed here.

Thanks to your generosity and the support of our sponsors, Pacific House raised over $400,000!

Shippan Turkey Trot Receives Volunteer Leadership Award

At the gala, Pacific House proudly honored Marc Malloy and Tom Hynes with the Volunteer Leadership Award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to community service. As longtime organizers of the Shippan Turkey Trot, Marc and Tom have spent over 25 years building one of Stamford’s most cherished Thanksgiving traditions, one that brings neighbors together in the spirit of fitness, friendship, and philanthropy.

Through their leadership, generosity, and creativity, they have transformed a neighborhood race into a powerful annual event that unites the community around a shared cause. Each year, all funds raised go directly to Pacific House, which help provide emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, meals, and supportive services for men, women, and families with children.

Marc’s and Tom’s dedication have made a lasting impact, strengthening the mission of Pacific House and inspiring others to give back in meaningful ways.

Rotary Commons: Breaking Ground on New Permanent Supportive Housing

On September 19, 2025, Pacific House broke ground on Rotary Commons on Stamford’s West Side, a development that will provide permanent supportive housing for 18 families and 21 at-risk or formerly homeless individuals.

This marks the 16th permanent supportive housing property owned and managed by Pacific House and brings the portfolio to 121 housing units across Stamford, Darien, and Norwalk, serving over 130 residents. Each day, Pacific House touches the lives of over 250 people through housing and supportive services.

Leaders at the ceremony included Governor Ned Lamont and Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno (CT Department of Housing). Governor Lamont praised the project as ensuring that people “have a place they can call home,” while Commissioner Mosquera-Bruno highlighted the comprehensive, client-centered approach.

President & CEO Carmen Colón emphasized that the project prioritized those with the greatest need. The name “Rotary Commons” recognizes a $1 million gift from the Stamford Rotary Trust Fund.
