New Permanent Supportive Housing Units In Stamford

Pacific House groundbreaking ceremony celebrates new permanent supportive housing.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on the west side of Stamford on September 19, 2025 to celebrate the beginning of a new permanent supportive housing development. The property, to be developed by Pacific House, will create permanent supportive housing for 18 families and 21at-risk or formerly homeless individuals.

Situated where two formerly blighted buildings were located, this property marks the 16th permanent supportive housing development owned and managed by Pacific House.

“We had a lot of catching up to do when it came to housing,” said Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont. “God bless Pacific House for looking out for people who otherwise might not have a place that they could call home.”

‘Rotary Commons’ development will provide permanent supportive housing for 18 families and 21 at-risk or formerly homeless seniors.

The development, which will also include office space for Pacific House’s new headquarters, brings the organization’s total number of housing units to 121 across the Stamford, Darien, and Norwalk communities. On a daily basis, Pacific House touches the lives of over 250 people.

“Pacific House takes a wholistic approach; they have a shelter, transitional housing, supportive housing and permanent housing. They also bring those services to make sure that families and individuals that need a little bit of help can get that,” said Connecticut Department of Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno.

“Not only is the project important for the city of Stamford, but it is very important for the State of Connecticut,” said Pacific House President & CEO, Carmen Colón. “What we are doing here is making sure that we are developing housing for those who need it most.”

This property, called ‘Rotary Commons’, commemorates a $1 million donation provided by the Stamford Rotary Trust Fund. The organization supports nonprofits to create positive and lasting change in the community. “This partnership demonstrates service that prioritizes the well-being and betterment of the community we serve,” said Allan Lang, Stamford Rotary Trust Board Chairman.

The project was also made possible by the Connecticut Department of Housing, Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development, City of Stamford Affordable Housing Trust Fund, Walker & Dunlap Affordable Equity and Energize Connecticut (Eversource).
