The press conference was attended by state and local leaders, providers, and advocates. The Commissioner of Housing called on Carmen Colón, President & CEO of Pacific House, to address the audience on behalf of HUBs and shelters, highlighting her leadership and frontline expertise.
Governor Lamont expressed strong support for the provider community and emphasized a collaborative approach to addressing the Executive Order, which remains in flux. At this time, Pacific House is not directly impacted, but we remain engaged and alert.
Ms. Colón spoke powerfully about the realities shelters face and the urgent need for long-term solutions through diversion strategies. As Chief Program Officer at Pacific House, Silvia Narvaez continues to advocate by elevating frontline insights and system needs, while Ms. Colón has become a trusted voice in public spaces, as confirmed by her latest appointment by the Commissioner of Housing to the Interagency Council of Homelessness.
