We are excited to share a special message from our President & CEO, Carmen I. Colón, who has been leading Pacific House for the past few months. With over 30 years of experience in providing services to the homeless population and creating permanent supportive housing, Carmen’s leadership brings a renewed focus and energy to our mission to prevent and end homelessness in Fairfield County.

Homelessness in Connecticut Continues to Rise. Connecticut's annual point-in-time count revealed a 13% increase in homelessness, with 3,410 individuals experiencing homelessness as of January 2024. This marks the third consecutive year of rising numbers. 

On June 26, 2024, Pacific House had the pleasure of hosting a remarkable event, "Timeless Traditions: A Gathering of the Minds," at the elegant residence of Jane Selden in Riverside, Connecticut. This special evening was an opportunity to bring together our community, sponsors, and donors to share in our mission and vision of ending homelessness in Fairfield County.

While the housing crisis remains a pressing issue, Pacific House also benefits from the incredible support of our community partners in addressing food insecurity.

At Pacific House, we continue to adapt to the ever-evolving challenges of the affordable housing crisis in Connecticut. As highlighted in a recent article by Connecticut Public Radio, our efforts to provide safe and affordable housing for Stamford's homeless population are more crucial than ever.

On a sunny day, the Rotary Commons project site became a hub of activity as key stakeholders gathered to review progress and discuss the future of this transformative housing development. The on-site visit was a testament to the collaborative spirit driving the Rotary Commons project, aimed at providing affordable, supportive housing to those in need.

On Friday, July 19th, Pacific House was honored to welcome Congressman Jim Himes to our offices and shelter in Stamford, CT. This visit was a pivotal moment for our organization as we continue to address the pressing issue of homelessness in Fairfield County.

Silvia Narvaez recently joined Pacific House as the Chief Programming Officer, and she is thrilled to become a part of this dedicated team. Silvia brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to equity and human rights for the unhoused population.
